Research field Testing the sensitivity of rodents to rodenticides as well as determining the cause of reduced sensitivity of rodents to anticoagulant rodenticides. Identification of the presence of mutations in the Vkorc1 gene in individuals resistant to anticoagulant rodenticides. Determining the harmful impact of rodents on the health of humans, domestic and wild animals by determining the presence of zoonoses in rodents as hosts and vectors of infectious diseases. Application of methods of forecasting and control of harmful rodents in agriculture and forestry. Determination of biological, ecological and genetic characteristics of small rodents as indicators of environmental pollution. Examining the effectiveness of ecologically acceptable methods of controlling harmful rodents in storage systems of organic production. Application of environmentally acceptable substances (essential oils) in the protection of stored products. Development of biocide-rodenticide formulations with extended durability and better acceptability by rodents with the aim of improving the control of rodents in the area where they prevail unfavorable environmental conditions (high temperature and humidity). Examination of the biology and ecology of snails and the biological efficacy of molluscicides. |
